El Portezuelo Estate, founded and managed by Don Rolando Huezo and his family, has
achieved what many aspire to but few attain: ranking their coffee among the finest in the
world.
The story of El Portezuelo is one of passion, hard work, and deep respect for the land. Don
Rolando, a farmer at heart and a coffee grower by vocation, inherited the property from his
parents. Together with his family, he made the decision to plant coffee and pursue a dream.
Thanks to its privileged location, with fresh microclimates, fertile soils, and unique
biodiversity; El Portezuelo cultivates exotic varieties like Pacamara, which have captivated
international coffee tasters.
For two consecutive years, coffee from the estate earned third place in El Salvador’s
prestigious Cup of Excellence competition an achievement that not only elevated the name
of the Huezo family but also brought pride to Salvadoran coffee on the global stage.
