My name is Benjamín Paz. I am the owner of finca "La Salsa" located at Las Vegas, Department of Santa Bárbara, altitude of 1680 m.a.s.l. I chose the Geisha variety to participate in the Cup of Excellence (COE). I did a “washed” process. The red cherry coffee is meticulously selected and harvested. I did this to enhance the flavor and characteristics of the variety and the good properties of my soil. This is the fifth time I have participated: In 2018 I was ranked fourteenth. In 2009, I was eliminated on the national stage. In 2021 and 2023 I got fifth place and in 2022 I got first place. Cup of Excellence is a very important event for producers. It allows us to promote our coffees and also brings an economic benefit. IHCAFE plays an important role bringing COE to Honduras and at the same time giving us the tools to produce better coffee and have access to an international market. For me it represents a lot of work and a lot of patience! I consider this a blessing from God. This is one of the best farms and one of the best coffees I've ever had. What a blessing is my farm!
