Corazón de Jesús micro mill belongs to the Alvarado Fonseca family. This family decided to learn the art of processing coffee and open their small micro mill on November 26th, 2015. This small family business, is dedicated to process high quality coffees from the Brunca region, which produces a unique coffee recognize for its great quality and because of its hard working people that with their effort, passion and dedication have manage to be on this prestigious project of Cup of Excellence. On this harvest 2020-2021 the family wants to create new commercial relationships and export their coffee to different parts of the world. We faithfully believe that team work, passion, been humble and persistent creates great long lasting relationships. Our micro mill wants to show in every coffee bean it process, its desire to improve and offer the best quality coffee possible. We want to keep growing and learning to represent the best way possible the Brunca-Chirripó Region and Café de Costa Rica. Corazón de Jesús micro mill has 4 coffee farms, 3 of them already are producing coffee and 1 is still waiting. La Torre farm, which got 5th place this year, our frist year participating in Cup of Excellence is a 2 hectares farm divided by altitude, at 1900-1950 we have; SL28, Geisha, Geisha Panameño and Ethiopia 47: This specific lot is a Geisha in a Natural Anaerobic process, which is one of the most used this days, it is easy to do and allows a great concentration of flavors and sensorial information in the cup. We started testing this process in the past harvest 2019-2020 with great results given an 85 score coffee, a 88 score. This coffee is slowly dried for 30 days or more.
