La Orquídea farm again reached a top 10 position with the third time
participating in the COE. "This is a great reward for the stable high
quality of our coffee". Arjen is a farmer with Dutch roots who is also
active in the world of sustainable tourism and nature conservation.
Together with his father in law; Don Francisco and caretaker Darwin they
manage the small farm and a cloud forest nature reserve as an ecological

The Maracaturra coffee is carefully picked at full ripeness and then
fermented for 36 hours and washed in fresh mountain water, that is used
for irrigation or filtered afterwards.

We thank the organization of the COE 2021 and hope more specialty coffee
buyers will discover the great coffees from Nicaragua at competitive
