Asmamaw is an exporter who has been in the coffee business for the last 14 years. He works with about 200 coffee-growing farmers in Didahorab Burka kebele, Uraga woreda in Gujji zone of the Oromia region. These farmers grow the 74/10 coffee variety on their farm which is found at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level and they practice organic farming. Asmamaw collects about 300,000 kilograms of coffee annually from an estimated total of 400 hectares of land of the farmers. He processes his coffee into washed, natural, and honey coffees and locally supplies to coffee exporters in Hawassa city. He was encouraged by the participation, of one coffee farmer in his area, in the 2020 Cup of Excellence, and whose coffee won fifth place.
