Nigussie Gemeda is from Keramo kebele in Bura zone, Sidama region, and has been farming coffee for the last eight years. He is one of the presidential award winners of the first Cup of Excellence 2020 competition in Ethiopia. He was highly motivated by the result and the new market connections and destinations, and he entered the 2021 competition with the 74158 variety of coffee. Nigussie, dry processes his coffee and currently he is negotiating with buyers on the international market (for instance in Japan) having established links with the help of Cup of Excellence in 2020. He hopes to further expand his market this year.” I am still excited to be part of the Cup of Excellence Auction and I hope to meet buyers in new market destinations” he said.
