Ely Alexis Bustillo Vásquez is the owner of Finca Nueva Luz, located at 1467 meters above sea level, in the village of Los Planes, Municipality of Trojes, Department of El Paraíso. In this COE edition he participates with washed Parainema
He represents the third generation of coffee producers in his family.
Ely Alexis provides good maintenance to his farm and takes care of the shadow using trees such as cedar, guava and lapo. In the same way, he takes care of the water sources by carefully using only good fertilizers.
He considers that the altitude, the soil and the microclimate of his farm contribute to the quality of his coffees. Besides that, he does a dedicated wash process, taking care of hygiene at each stage, from harvesting to fermentation and storage.

“My happiness depends on my farm, my enthusiasm on constantly working and making the sacrifice to compete in specialty coffees. Cup of Excellence has made a difference for me and other producers, as it has motivated us to produce with excellent quality. I am happy to sell specialty coffees and grateful to God for allowing me to participate and have this opportunity that is our future and that of our children”.
