The story of Fazenda Pa Santa Cecília begins in 2001, when two friends met and together established their life purpose in cultivating the land. Flávio and Marcelo, sons of farmers, already had agriculture in their DNA. Flávio, with his vast experience acquired over the years running a family business met Marcelo, a recently graduated agricultural technician destined to explore the agricultural universe. The future was promising, a brotherhood arose driven by cultivation of the land, by respect and by reciprocity. Coffee is a passion for the majority who live in the Cerrado of Minas Gerais, and it could not be different with the young entrepreneurs, born and raised surrounded by coffee fields. In 2010 the opportunity to build their first specialty coffee producing farm in the city of Campos Altos, Minas Gerais, arose. So, Marcelo and Flávio carefully chose each parcel of land on which they would plant their fields, after all, their objective was to produce extraordinary coffees from the start. After a long journey in search of perfect land, Agropecuária Padap came together, an origin where some of the most incredible coffees of the High Cerrado Mineiro are produced.
The coffee was harvested mechanically and was not washed. The ripe cherries went directly to the patio, where they were spread in a thick layer and left for two days. After drying, the coffee rested in bags for 5 days and was processed.
Mapping is always performed before every harvest to discover maturation percentages and to measure Brix. Picking is done with a maximum of 15% green cherries. Coffee cherries are picked selectively and the producers take all due care with post-harvest processing. Women are involved in the production process.
Until 2021, the farm held UTZ certification. In 2022 and 2023, it obtained Rainforest Alliance certification, RA_00083182202, valid until 17 May 2027. It is also certified by Orfeu, CAFE Pratices and Regenagri.
