We have been part of the Cup of Excellence for 2 years. Our farm is located in the municipality of Mozonte, Nueva Segovia and the variety with which we have been participating is Caturra. Last year we were ranked number 14 and we are going step by step moving forward.
We hope that our coffee begins to be showcased internationally so that foreign buyers see it as more attractive as a result of the benefits, attributes and notes that my coffee has, also seeing through the scores given at the cup of excellence, helps to show our coffee to the world and eventually we may be able to market my coffee well.
This is a family tradition, we started 44 years ago with my grandfather, then there was a generational change and the farm passed into the hands of my father and for 8 years now I have been 100% in charge of the farm, already being the third generation.
My message to Nicaraguan coffee growers is to put passion, passion into the things that make you define goals, 'short and medium-term purposes that, if in a year you do not achieve the stated objective, keep persevering, keep making adjustments along the way. Growers should not change that goal, but instead change the plan they are using on the farm. The coffee industry and the Cup of Excellence is a window to the world, so the world knows our coffee, our farm and fall in love with coffee because that is the key, when you like it and you are passionate about it with a lot of love.
This achievement is a happiness shared with the entire team, with all my family, with all my friends, with the same people from the mill who thank you very much for the support you have provided throughout this process.
