Description
Coffee from Ban Doi Pak Kud comes from the area of an absolute single origin Arabica farm in the Royal-initiated border village under the Royal Development Projects in Amphoe Pai, Mae Hong Son province.
It is situated in a hill evergreen forest with the highest mountain at an elevation of 1,865 metres above mean sea level. Doi Pak Kud is the watershed of Pai river and a habitat of wide variety of plant species, wildlife and birds.
Doi Pak Kud coffee is grown on the mountain under shade trees in low temperature all year round, which results in the high quality sweet coffee beans with herbal notes.
Farmers cultivate their coffee with meticulous attention to every step from breeding selection, cultivation, harvest to delicate processing. Organic coffee cultivation on the boundary of forests and watersheds is environmentally friendly while also boosts the livelihood of Lahu ethnic farmers.
