Description
Genaro Cahuana grew up in the Puna jungle, a third-generation coffee farmer, he inherited the entire coffee plot from his father more than a decade ago. Since 2015 on the Santa Yamilet farm, organic production, environmental aspects, and post-harvest processing have been taken with great importance. Previously, many coffee samples have been shared with regional tasters, buyers/importers, where the coffees produced on the Santa Yamilet farm attracted a lot of attention, which is why we have continued continuous improvement, today the beans produced are highly appreciated. Because of our international buyers, they constantly ask me how the property is, their excitement also infects me with emotion. I am very proud of my coffee.
Initially we only had the production of the typica variety, later we have installed the bourbon variety; We did not know its quality in the cup, we did not know the post-harvest processing, the blends. I began to train, exchange knowledge with other producers in the Alto Inambari area, and coincidentally we sent small samples to regional tasters, the results were very good; It was then that we began to receive recommendations, from which to improve more and more in agronomic field management, pest and disease control, post-harvest processes; We now have micro lots separated by variety. Even at the Santa Yamilet farm we now have the geisha variety, next year it will be in production.
