Description
Edenilson’s story with coffee began early in life, watching his father through the coffee fields and learning each stage of production. His fascination with the process grew into a purpose: becoming a producer himself. At 19, he started working to save up money, and a few years later, he achieved his dream of buying land, building a home, and starting his own coffee production.
His wife, Ciomara, later joined him in this journey. She studied Coffee Farming and became the main responsible for the post-harvest at Mãe da Providência. The couple manages every detail of production with precision: separating lots by harvest time, plot, and ripeness level. Drying is carefully done on patios or suspended beds, depending on the cherries’ sweetness and volume, ensuring uniformity and ideal moisture.
Coffee is the family’s only activity, carried out with discipline and care. Through training and technical support from SMC and Cooxupé, they continuously refine their methods, applying better soil management, selective picking, and controlled drying to elevate cup quality. Their dedication soon turned into recognition: in 2019, Edenilson won first place in a specialty coffee contest, calling it a blessing and a dream fulfilled.
In the following years, their coffees remained among the top lots of the Especialíssimo program, and in 2023, Mãe da Providência repeated its triumph with a Natural Catucaí.
