Rumudamo PLC was established three years ago. It is located in Rumudamo kebele in Arbegona woreda, Sidama region located at an altitude of 1700 – 2000 meters above sea level. Currently, the farm works with 500 farmers and another 100 that have been integrated into the company to produce specialty coffee. The company farms the 74112 varieties of coffee on 840 hectares of land and annually harvests 350,000 kilograms of coffee, which is processed mostly into washed and in a lesser amount, into natural coffee. In the last two years, the coffee was sold to the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange. The company was one of the top coffees in the 2020 Cup of Excellence Competition, and as a result, is negotiating with international buyers to export coffee. “We were able to create strong networks and relationships because of our win in 2020. We are happy to continue the legacy and become one of the top ten winners of the competition”, says Ato Bogale Woldehanna, General Manager of the company.
