Description
Café Pacas has been managing Finca La Esperanza since November 2010. This expansive, picturesque farm is
renowned for producing exceptional quality coffee. Located in Cantón El Porvenir, Municipio de Chalchuapa,
Santa Ana, the farm spans elevations from 1,000 masl to 1,750 masl. Due to the farm's unique shape and
significant elevation changes, maintaining a well-constructed road system is essential.
One of the most special aspects of Finca La Esperanza is its biodiverse shade, which contributes to the
exceptional quality of the coffee produced here. The farm is run by Yanira Mendoza, a very wise and
knowledgeable woman who is an integral part of our team.
Since 2012, Finca La Esperanza has undergone a comprehensive renovation. The original trees were very old,
resulting in inefficient and weak root systems, necessitating a complete overhaul.
For this renovation project, we re-designed the farm to function as a large varietal garden, dividing it into 18
distinct lots. We have planted different coffee varietals in each lot. To date, we have replanted 70% of the
total farm area with the following varietals: Pacas, Red Bourbon, Pacamara, Orange Bourbon, Kenya,
Bernardina, Heirloom, and Moka.
Situated in the North West region, Finca La Esperanza benefits from a wonderful climate and is not affected
by wind. The farm produces some of our highest quality coffees and has won several awards.
