Description
I’m Alma Pineda from El Cedral. My farm is called “El Mango.” I've spent all my life around coffee; even from an early age, I found myself observing my father work hard and care for coffee. Later, I witnessed the same dedication in my husband, who is also a coffee producer. He was ultimately the reason I began my journey in coffee. He knew I would find interest and joy in growing specialty coffee due to the special care and attention it requires, as well as the opportunity for research and learning, which varies depending on the variety used.
I feel proud that coffee is the main source of income for my family and I hope to build a legacy in specialty coffee that can be passed on to our children. Currently, the future seems bright with great results in the last participation of the Cup of Excellence (COE), which helped us secure a better price point from international buyers. This feels like the reward for all the effort and hard work that a year of harvest demands. Maintaining quality is key to beginning to solidify that legacy and, one day, becoming the winner of the COE.
