Description
For Duvis Moreno, the journey to this year's Cup of Excellence (COE) has been one of overcoming adversity. It took him a long time before the coffee world drew him back in. Growing up, he witnessed his father's struggles with coffee harvesting and decided to pursue other opportunities. He spent a couple of years working in the USA to save up and buy a house in Honduras. Upon returning to the country, he spent three years working in the textile industry, striving to achieve his goals.
However, everything changed when his older brother, who had been assisting their father on the farm, suffered a stroke and could no longer continue the work. Duvis's father called upon him for help, prompting him to return to the field. He took on the responsibility of managing both his father's farm and the one he had managed to buy through years of hard work. Inspired by seeing his brothers participate in COE and motivated by his father's dedication to specialty coffee, Duvis learned everything necessary to produce coffee worthy of COE recognition.
Looking ahead, Duvis plans to revitalize his farm, seizing the opportunities that COE offers. Although he initially intended to begin the renewal process this year, he had to postpone it due to the loss of his vehicle. Nonetheless, he remains determined to pursue his goals and continue his journey in the coffee industry
