Description
I'm Edwin Lenin Pineda Ulloa, and my farm is called "El Pozo." I began specializing in coffee around 2011 when I transitioned my farm to grow specialty varieties. Initially, adapting to the stringent requirements for specialty coffee proved challenging, demanding more care, effort, and investment in maintaining nutrition and combating diseases and pests that affect coffee plants.
I am driven to continue producing coffee worthy of competition spots in the Cup of Excellence (COE) as it ensures the main source of income for my family and establishes me as a notable Honduran coffee producer, showcasing our commitment to quality. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in COE and to IHCAFE for facilitating connections with international buyers who appreciate the hard work we put into our coffee.
Looking ahead, I am passing down all the coffee knowledge I've gained over the years—from friends, San Vicente Exports, IHCAFE technicians, and my own experiences—to my children. My goal is to ensure the continuity of our legacy in coffee production, which has been built through the efforts of my farm, my dedication, and the platform provided by COE.
