Description

Hello, my name is Miguel Ángel Ruis Fernández. I come from a coffee-producing family that has been shaping the industry for generations.
For me and my family, the farm holds a very special meaning, as our parents have been gradually teaching us all the processes and skills of the coffee industry from a very young age. Thanks to this, we are also able to help other families by creating jobs, and that brings us great joy.
I vividly remember my first steps into the world of coffee; they were always driven by a deep desire to follow in my father's footsteps. From a young age, I dreamed of owning my own coffee farm, feeling a passionate connection to what the world of coffee is. Thanks to the unwavering support and encouragement of my parents, I was able to make this dream come true and establish my first small coffee farm. Today, with the love and backing of my wife and son, we proudly manage a specialty coffee farm. This journey is more than just about business—it's about preserving a beautiful legacy that has been passed down through generations, filled with dedication, love, and a shared passion for coffee that continues to inspire us every day.
In the coffee industry, we face many challenges every day, requiring a great deal of effort to maintain our plots, such as plantation diseases and climate change, among others.
We have faced countless challenges along this journey, moments that tested our strength and resolve. But through perseverance and an open heart, we chose to seek guidance from true experts in the coffee industry, people whose wisdom and kindness have been invaluable. Asking for their advice was not just about improving our farm; it was about humbly learning, growing, and believing in the possibility of something greater. With each step forward, we gained more knowledge and confidence, feeling the weight of our dreams becoming lighter as progress slowly unfolded. And today, I thank God with all my heart, because we are making meaningful strides with our plots of land, each small victory fueling our hope and passion to keep pushing forward. This journey has been a testament to faith, resilience, and the unwavering belief that better days are ahead.
For me Cup of Excellence has made a big impact, since I believe it is a dream for every specialty coffee producer to be among the best coffees of Honduras, thankfully this dream has come true for me as I was able to showcase my coffee in COE.
This has meant a lot since with a lot of effort and dedication we achieved 4th place in the Parainema Catracha category. This marks a beautiful experience in my life and that of my family and pushes us even more to improve our coffee, to try and continue with this beautiful experience year after year.
