Description
I’m Joaquina Montoya Alvarado, a coffee producer for the past 35 years. I own the farm “Los Pinos.” Thanks to my efforts and those of my husband, we managed to acquire ownership of the farm. This is my first year participating in the Cup of Excellence (COE), and I feel blessed that, with God's help, our efforts have culminated in achieving third place.
The reason I decided to participate in COE this year was due to the encouragement I received from Ronny Gamez of RAGA COFFEE. He mentioned that the quality of my coffee this year reached COE levels and encouraged me to participate. Initially, I was doubtful, until we had a visit from one of our international buyers at RAGA COFFEE. She was astonished to find such high-quality coffee outside of COE and encouraged us to participate.
I took their words to heart and decided to participate. In the future, I'll continue to invest time and effort in my farm to achieve the same level or even higher. This year's harvest was exceptional in every way, and I'm prepared for the next one to be just as good.
