Nestled within the greater estate of Finca La Hermosa lies a small plot with a big story: Finca La Cookies. This micro-lot doesn’t just grow coffee—it grows memories. It was named after our daughter Sophie, when she was barely learning to speak. Her tiny voice used to echo around the farm with soft babbles of “cu-cu, cu-cu.” Her older brother, Maxito, just a year old at the time, would listen to her with curiosity and joy. Somehow, amidst the baby talk, he started calling her “Cookies”—a nickname born not from language, but from pure love.
The name stuck. And as Sophie grew, so did this lot—under the same light, laughter, and legacy of our family. Today, she runs between the trees that bear her name, unaware that somewhere in the world, someone is sipping a cup of coffee that carries her spirit.
