1 - Elite - Nicaragua 2025

My name is Olman Sauceda, coffee producer and cupper by profession. I am the second generation of a Nicaraguan coffee family and my passion for coffee led me to start my career as a cupper in 2006. Since then, I have had the privilege of participating in the Cup of Excellence competition as part of the national panel of tasters on 15 occasions and selected on two occasions as an international jury. These experiences allowed me to enter the world of specialty coffees and awakened in me a deep admiration for the best coffees in the world.

My path as a producer began when I inherited a farm from my father. From that moment on, I decided to develop a project focused on exotic coffees, combining tradition with innovation.

With a lot of effort, hard work and dedication we started the Finca Elite project, located in the municipality of Mozonte, Nueva Segovia, in the Dipilto-Jalapa Mountain Range, at an altitude between 1,450-1,650 meters above sea level, in one of the zones with the best agro-climatic conditions for the cultivation of specialty coffees in Nicaragua.

It is a family project that seeks to establish a garden of exotic varieties and to be a reference farm for high level coffees, to adapt them to our conditions and to place Nicaragua in the international markets with coffees that develop profiles and attributes of our region, which will also serve for genetic improvement and as a guide for the Nicaraguan coffee sector.

At Finca Élite we do not only cultivate coffee, we cultivate identity, diversity and excellence, we have established plots of varieties such as Chiroso, Orange Geisha, Sidra, Borbón rosado, SL 28, Batian, Laurina, Casiopea, Ethiopian coffees, among others. Also, more traditional varieties such as yellow Pacamara, red Maracaturra and Catuai.

We dedicate time, care and passion from the selection of seeds, we have a new plantation of geisha that with a Honey process in its first harvest, obtained a presidential score, awarding our work with the First Place in the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence Contest 2025, which is a goal or dream fulfilled in less time than expected.

Our approach is integral, social, environmental, in transition to become a model of organic and quality production, committed to the protection of the environment, taking advantage of the unique conditions of our soils, microclimates and altitude to grow coffees with distinctive sensory profiles.

One of our greatest achievements has been to form a family business based on our love for coffee. We are passionate about exotic coffees for their unique flavors, flavors that before we only found in other regions of the world, but that today we have successfully adapted to our country.

We are proud to represent Nicaragua this year as champions of the Cup of Excellence 2025, for us winning the Cups of Excellence is not a coincidence, it is the result of a project that we started which commits us to maintain consistency and quality in the future.
