Description
The farm “El poste”, located in the municipality of Dipilto Nueva Segovia, has a history of more than 36 years, belonging to the Montenegro family; The farm has 50 manzanas and is located in a productive area since it has been improving production from 25 to 30 quintals of gold per manzana.
The farm has witnessed important changes in Nicaraguan agriculture, including the transition to more diversified crops and the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.
The labor force is the fundamental part of making production possible as they are the most important part of our farm.
I am very motivated to continue working to produce coffee of very good quality since I am taking advantage of the edaphoclimatic conditions that predominate in my property. Since the beginning of the Cup of Excellence contest we have been trained with technical knowledge that has helped us to improve the quality of our coffee; in the harvesting process, where we have been educated and trained to only harvest the ripe bean to maintain the quality, giving it its proper processing in the pulping, fermentation and washing, to maintain the quality and provide better coffees at a national and international level.
We have improved in maintaining the quality in the plantations; since we maintain the same types of coffee seeds and they are harvested from the same farm; since it is a creole seed. That is what my father sent me, he takes pictures and I can take them and send them to him.
