Finca La Picona - Tradition, Precision and Height
Located in the renowned mountains of Dipilto, Nueva Segovia, Finca La Picona stands out for producing some of the most expressive coffees in Nicaragua. It is the only farm located in the Picona Mountains, which gives it an exclusive and privileged environment: volcanic soils rich in phosphorus, constant breezes and an ideal altitude allow for a slow and uniform maturation of the fruit, generating dense and complex cup profiles.
La Picona represents a balance between tradition and innovation. The estate has a proven track record of producing award-winning micro-lots - including a batch of Maracaturra Natural, a finalist in the Cup of Excellence 2025. Through meticulous harvesting and experimental fermentation processes, we always strive for quality over quantity. Each batch is carefully harvested, selected and processed to express its origin with clarity and elegance.
Our team is currently experimenting with fermentation variables - such as fruit density, temperature and time - to take quality to the next level, while maintaining traceability and consistency.
