Description
My name is Elías Yeltsin Hernández Tejada. Today I'm here to tell you a little about how Finca Karmél came to be.
To begin, I want to share with you where this name "karmél" originates from. It is the Hebrew for "Monte Carmelo" which means "vineyard of God" or "Garden of God."
It all began when God gave my father the opportunity to acquire a property in the village of San Luis Planes, Santa Bárbara. He started this beautiful coffee journey there, working for many years. Sadly, my father died in 2009, leaving behind immense sorrow. But more than that, he left a legacy, in which he taught me to work and live off the fruits of the land.
Years passed, and in 2018, I began working with specialty coffee, trying to bring out the best in my coffee. For seven years, I struggled to achieve something better. It's not an easy path, but with God on my side, it's not impossible. I tried many times and failed many times, but I didn't give up.
Perseverance, persistence, and dedication are very important values for achieving what we so desperately desire; with trust in God and that dream in mind, I have achieved positive results.
Through all this, I've learned that anything can be achieved with effort and dedication, and that even if something isn't achieved on the first or second try, there's still a third attempt to keep pushing until you achieve what you want.
Now that I'm part of the Cup of Excellence, I first thank God, because he gives me wisdom, my family for all their support, and all those who, with sweat and effort, harvest every piece of fruit on the farm. This triumph is dedicated to all of them.
Now I just want you to be able to enjoy in every cup of my coffee, what is produced in the “Garden of God”.
