Description
Yetsin grew up surrounded by coffee, and for him, it’s much more than just a crop, its a deeply personal way to keep his heritage alive and honor the legacy of those who came before him. Being a fourth-generation coffee farmer has ignited a genuine passion within him, fueling his dedication and love for this craft. When he started producing specialty coffee around 2012, after his father entrusted him with managing one of the farms, that passion only grew stronger.
Every step he takes in this journey is driven by a heartfelt desire to preserve his family's tradition and share the beauty of his land with the world. In 2014, Yetsin took a significant step in his journey by becoming the owner of the cherished "La Pila" farm, a place that once belonged to his father. Since then, he has poured his heart and soul into nurturing the land, working tirelessly to ensure its soil’s nutritional value is just right to produce the best coffee possible. This year marks a proud milestone for Yetsin, he is leaving his heartfelt mark on the world of specialty coffee by proudly competing in two categories at the prestigious Cup of Excellence. It’s a testament to his dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to honoring his heritage and elevating his craft to new heights.
In the “Honduras Tradicional” category, he represented Finca El Ocote with a Pacas coffee
variety using honey process. Thanks to his dedication and meticulous work, he achieved fourth place, standing out among the best coffees in the country.
On the other hand, Finca La Pila also participated in the “Honduras Exotica” category, presenting a natural processed Maracaturra, obtaining 14th place, competing with coffees with unique and complex profiles.
