Description
Angel Arturo Paz Ramirez is a third-generation producer who has been involved with specialty coffee since COE Honduras inception. His work has managed to establish commercial relationships with international buyers. Despite this, he continues to participate in COE to support the work that has been done, as a way of repaying the connection that COE helped him to make.
Angel is the chief in quality control at "San Vicente Exports". His main focus on his farm is implementing practices that help mitigate the damage that climate change can inflict on the crops. Another significant concern is the shortage of the workforce for coffee harvesting due to migration issues and the low rate of generational succession.
For the future, he plans to expand and maintain the forest that surrounds his farm to ensure the microclimate that benefits his coffee. He feels that despite the challenges, they cannot halt their efforts in coffee production, and he has no intention of stopping either. He's proud to carry the flag of his community as the top specialty producer region from Honduras and aims to continually be among the winners of COE.
