Description
I am Nery Martinez, the owner of the "La Montaña" farm. However, this achievement is not solely mine; every step of the way, it was built with my brother, Edwin Martinez Alvarado. We have journeyed together, so for me, this achievement is ours, not mine alone.
We started with humble beginnings as coffee producers, with only 0.85 of an acre dedicated to coffee. In our community of Las Vegas Santa Barbara, we observed that coffee plays a significant role, with many COE winners around us. This served as motivation to continue working on specialty coffee. Our farm is 9 years old but we still get excellent result in productivity by following the coffee pruning and management that IHCAFE has implemented.
Our farm possesses intrinsic qualities for producing a Cup of Excellence, including its altitude, variety, and climate. Additionally, we take special care to follow the recommendations provided by IHCAFE technicians. We are grateful and proud to join the ranks of the many farmers in Las Vegas who have achieved this milestone.
