14 - El Porvenir - Nicaragua 2025

In the mountains of Jinotega, among the mist, the birds singing and the natural richness of the Datanlí El Diablo Reserve, is Farm El Porvenir, a family coffee farm that holds a history of love for the land, generational legacy and commitment to the future.

It all began in 1974, when Óscar Rivera Palacios and Pastora Siles decided to work these lands with dedication and vision. Together they formed a family with four children: three girls and one boy. Sadly, the son died at a very young age, and with the passing of time, the legacy of the farm was inherited by their three daughters, who today keep the coffee growing tradition alive with pride and responsibility.

Since 1994, Claudia María Rivera Siles, one of the daughters, became directly involved in the daily work of the farm, guided by the example of her parents. Over time, she took on the leadership of the project, representing a new generation of producers committed not only to the quality of the coffee, but also to the empowerment of rural women. Her vision is to transform the countryside through female leadership, cultivating a legacy that transcends generations.

The name “El Porvenir” was chosen by the family as a tribute to all that this farm has meant in their lives. Since its beginnings, it has been a place of work, union and hope. For Óscar Rivera Palacios and Pastora Siles, and now for their youngest daughter Claudia, this farm represents the fruit of daily effort and the illusion of a better tomorrow. To call it “El Porvenir” is to recognize that, despite the difficulties, there has always been an eye on the future, with the certainty that well-worked land can transform lives.

Today, Farm El Porvenir is a living farm, where coffee is cultivated in harmony with nature, and where principles such as respect, resilience and love for the land are valued. Each harvest is possible thanks to the joint work with the harvesting families of nearby communities, who year after year select each bean with expert hands and a committed heart. These communities have been part of the process for generations, contributing not only effort, but also knowledge and a sense of belonging.

Farm El Porvenir's coffee is hand-picked, wet-processed (washed) and sun-dried, using sustainable practices that protect the area's natural resources. The result is a clean, bright and balanced cup, with character and mountain soul.

This work has been nationally recognized:

- In 2022, Farm El Porvenir took 12th place in the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence, with a score of 87.71.
- In 2025, it again stood out with 14th place, achieving 87.09 points.

Reaching the Cup of Excellence has been the result of years of silent effort, of getting up early in the field, caring for each plant, selecting each bean with precision and never giving up. The recognition not only honors the quality of the coffee, but also the history of a family that always believed that a job well done opens doors to the future.

Farm El Porvenir is more than a crop: it is a symbol of history, identity and commitment to the past, present and future of Nicaraguan coffee.
